Story

A song for people at work on Friday.

Lyrics

Thursday at the dentist was full of fear and pain.
Wednesday's margeritas made cabbage of my brain.
Felt so blue and moody when Tuesday came to pass.
Monday started rudely with my boss up in my face.

But now it's Friday afternoon and I can sing a happy tune.
Because it's Friday afternoon and I can sing a happy tune.

Thursday makes me thirsty and Wednesday makes me wide.
With onion rings and soda that rumble round inside.
Pounding down the donuts and coffee by the quart.
And every day at three o'clock I really need to leave.

But now it's Friday afternoon and I can sing a happy tune.
Because it's Friday afternoon and I can sing a happy tune.

Sunday and Saturday pass like a dream
as I plow through a six pack and root for my team
and I know I should go mow the lawn or to church
but it just might remind me of work

So every Monday morning I curse and  moan and whine
But I know I'm not out standing on the sidewalk with a sign
So even though my cubicle is dank and dark and bare,
And the weekend will be wasted but for now I just don't care

But now it's Friday afternoon and I can sing a happy tune.
Because it's Friday afternoon and I can sing a happy tune.
